Family Care

Because a best friend is family, too.

A pet is comfort, routine, and unconditional love when that matters most. Treasured Pets helps patients keep caring for their companions — and, when it's time, plan lovingly for a pet's future. Free for families in need.

Why it matters

A beloved pet shouldn't be one more thing to worry about.

For many patients, a pet means comfort, routine, and unconditional love right when it matters most. Treasured Pets helps you keep caring for your companion when illness makes it hard to manage alone.

Comfort that stays close

We help you keep your pet healthy and at home, so no one gives up a companion too soon.

Free for families in need

Every service is free to families with financial need, thanks to volunteers and local partners.

What we help with

Practical help so a pet stays healthy and at home.

When caring for a pet becomes too much, our volunteers and partners step in with the everyday tasks that keep an animal happy and well. Support is tailored to your pet and adjusts gently as needs change.

Needs assessments

We start by learning what you and your pet need, then shape a plan that fits your home.

Veterinary and grooming

We coordinate basic vet care and grooming through trusted local providers to keep your pet well.

Transportation to appointments

Volunteers drive your pet to and from vet and grooming visits, handling the details for you.

Exercise and active play

Volunteers help with dog walking and play, keeping your pet active when you can't manage it alone.

Food and supply delivery

We deliver pet food, bedding, and everyday supplies to your door, so your companion never goes without.

Planning for the future

When it's needed, we help plan lovingly for your pet's future, honoring your wishes for its care.

How you can help

Ways the community keeps Treasured Pets going.

Treasured Pets runs entirely on our community's generosity. Whether you have time, resources, a spare room, or a pet-focused business, there's a meaningful way to help patients and their companions stay together.

Questions

Questions families and supporters ask us most.

Weighing how Treasured Pets can help you, or how you might help us? Below are the questions we hear most from patients, caregivers, and neighbors, along with the simplest way to reach our team.

How do I request help caring for my pet?

If you're a patient or caregiver and caring for a pet has become hard, email volunteer@treasurehealth.org or call 772-403-4510. A team member will talk through the support that fits you best.

Is there a cost for Treasured Pets services?

No. Services are free to families with demonstrated financial need, made possible by our volunteers and local business partners.

I have a certified therapy dog. Can we visit patients?

That's our separate HosPet program, not Treasured Pets. HosPet volunteers bring their own therapy dogs to patients at home, in assisted living, and in our Inpatient Units. Visit our Volunteer page to learn more.

What kinds of pets are available to adopt?

Usually mature animals whose owners have passed or asked us to help rehome them. Each is vaccinated, recently vet-checked, and groomed, and we share its history so you can find the right fit.

How do Pet Tribute Bricks work?

You purchase an engraved brick honoring a beloved pet, with proceeds benefiting Treasured Pets. Bricks are installed in batches, typically about eight to ten weeks from order.

How can my business become a Preferred Provider?

Vet clinics, groomers, and pet-supply retailers can register to support patients. Email volunteer@treasurehealth.org or call 772-403-4510 and we'll explain how the partnership works.
