You don't have to be a nurse to change someone's last chapter.
Since 1982, volunteers have been the heart of Treasure Coast Hospice - bringing comfort, companionship, and a moment of relief to patients and families across Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee counties. Whatever your comfort level, your skills, or your schedule, there is a way for you to help.
Impact and compliance
Your time makes an impact.
From sitting with a patient so a caregiver can rest, to walking a beloved dog, to greeting families at an event, every volunteer helps us provide care that goes beyond medicine. You don't need experience - just a willingness to show up.
Find the way you want to help.
Choose a pathway that fits your comfort level, skills, schedule, and connection to hospice care. Some of our most meaningful programs exist only because of volunteers - Treasured Pets and Veteran-to-Veteran visits are delivered almost entirely by people like you.

Storytelling
Why volunteer
It's not about the dying. It's about the people still living through it. If you've ever cared for someone you love, you know how much a little help can mean. You can be that help for someone else.
"It's not about the dying patient. You're there to help that family. You're doing so much for that caretaker. If you've ever been a caregiver, you know what it's like to be burnt out - and how powerful it is to have somebody just give you a break. You can be that person for somebody."
- Lisa Gunggoll, Regional Director for Volunteer Engagement, Treasure Coast Hospice
Start with a conversation.
Tell us a little about yourself and a volunteer coordinator will reach out. There's no commitment - just a conversation.
There is more than one way to bring comfort.
Whether you sit with a patient, walk a dog, sew a memory bear, or help behind the scenes, you become part of a 40-year legacy of neighbors caring for neighbors. We'd love to help you find your place in it.
